AI: hype versus reality

Every organisation is being told what AI will do for it. Far fewer can say what it has actually done. This session looks at that gap honestly, and at what separates the organisations getting value from AI from the ones still running pilots.

• Where the hype breaks down. The gap between what AI is promised to deliver and what an organisation can actually expect.
• What adoption really takes. Governance, capability and change decide the outcome far more than the model or the tool. I will use generic lessons from building an AI programme in a large, federated organisation.
• How to judge your next step. Practical tests for choosing use cases, measuring benefit honestly and pressure-testing what a vendor tells you.
